Before I went on my sewing break a few weeks ago I joined in on the testing of two of the patterns that are part of the new Lounge Library collection over at Project Run and Play.

The patterns I tested are The Novella Pinafore and The Story, both are designed by Heidi who runs Elegance and Elephants. Lets start with the Novella.

I love the simple vintage style of this pinafore. There are 3 skirt styles to choose from. I did the simple straight version, you can also do a simple gathered skirt or a 3 tiered skirt.

I used medium weight denim with a slight stretch in size 8 width and between 10 and 11 height. Adding decoration to the front pocket is a simple but perfect way to add your own touch to the design.

Now over to The Story. I made three during testing just because I think its awesome as does my lucky girl, these tops are in heavy rotation. The one that is shown at the top of this post is made in jearsey by Art Gallery Fabrics.

This purple one is french terry with a very soft backside so its a dream to wear I’m told. For size I did the same as with The Novella, 8 width and between 10 and 11 height.

Don’t you just adore these puffy sleeves!

The Story also makes for a very stylish and comfy sweater dress.

You should go check out this new Lounge Library Collection over at Project Run and Play. The whole collection includes 11 awesome patterns, you can buy the whole collection or individual patterns. I have already bought the other ones I didn’t test. Now I just need to get my sewjo up and going again.
