I wasn’t planning on making the kids new outfits for the holidays this year. As you can imagine they have plenty they can use, at least this one does!

Oh well, she has a new one now!
It’s been a while since I tested for Sansahash so I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity when the tester call came.

This is the Puchi Pinafore dress and skirt. You want to hear something awesome? You get this pattern for free if you buy any other Sansahash pattern/s. So be sure to add the Puchi to your cart!

You can choose to gather the skirt or do pleats, I’m a sukker for pleats so that’s what I do. There is an option for patch pockets and ruffles for the cross-back straps. The skirt is designed to hit at mid calf. You can also just drop the bib and the straps and make a skirt.

If we were having nice and warm summer days she could wear only the dress, without any layering pieces. Well, thats not happening any time soon so I’m glad I could make her a top using the Nilah pattern. Which by the way was recently updated to add those beautiful dramatic ruffles to the armcye. Nilah offers the choice of a top or a dress with a curved high-low hem, also all the sleeve variations from sleeveless to long sleeves. You can line the bodice or finish the neck with a binding.

Now, should we talk fabric? For the dress I used this beautiful vintage feel light-weight chambray stripes in indigo from Imagine Gnats. I can’t believe they still have it, it must have restocked cause I bought mine in June last year. I just might have to buy more to restock my stash again.

For her top I think I’ve used the stuff clouds are made off, I have never touched a softer fabric in my life and Anita agrees. This is modal jersey from Stofflykke. I went back and forth on what fabric to use. I was afraid it would be boring to use just plain white, but I’m so glad I stuck to it. I used blue thread in my serger to do a rolled hem on the ruffles. I actually bought this and another blue fabric with flowers to make her a pretty nightgown, but luckily I had not gotten there yet.

I think this is enough for now!
One last thing, Sansahash is having a cyber week sale so now is the time to get a steal of a deal on great patterns — remember to add the Puchi to your cart!

Hi! I stumbled upon this by chance, because WordPress suggested it for me under my own latest post, due to its title (pinafore) I suppose… Anyway, beautiful work. I myself love to sew and wow, this fabric, design and result are lovely.

The straps on the back are so cool how they come around the sides. And I like how you styled it. Very cute.
