Esther in pink.

October being a pink month I thought it was the perfect colour to use for my Esther blouse and I’m so happy with it.

Esther is the newest member of the Wardrobe by me family.  It’s a lovely peasant style blouse for woven fabrics.  The blouse has pleats or gathers at the neckline and at the sleeve cuffs.  There are two length options both for the body and the sleeves.  Mine is in the longer lengths and with the pleats.

I love the boatneck look of the neckline and the blouse goes smoothly over the head without undoing the button.  I did straight up size 6 as the pattern has enough ease to go nicely over my hips, which are size 10.  I often have to add length to my sleeves but in this case the length was perfect as is.

I bought my fabric from the lovely Imagine Gnats store.  Its a silky noil viscose/linen blend with amazing feel and drape.  This is the magenta colour but there are many other colours available.  It was perfect for the Esther blouse.

Isn’t this cuff lovely!  I love the attention to detail in Wardrobe by me patterns!

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
