All the heart eyes for Mirri

I’m about to show you one of the most flattering pattern I have ever sewed.  It just hugs the body in all the right places and it looks awesome on all sorts of body types.  Here is the awesome Mirri from Wardrobe by me.

Mirri is a faux wrap dress and/or top for light to medium weight knit fabric.  It has cap sleeves, four lengths and a gorgeous pleated front bodice.  It comes in US sizes 0 – 24.

I made the below knee length and blended sizes from 6 bust to 10 hips.  For my dress I used viscose jersey from Stoff og Stil.  It has a lovely drape, but I hate hemming light weight knit fabrics so I used a rolled hem on my serger.  Works like a charm every time.

What I love about The Mirri dress is that its perfect for a casual comfy summer dress and equally perfect for a fancy dress up party!

The Mirri top pairs perfectly with the Hepburn pants.

I did the same sizing adjustment to the top but used a cotton jersey from Stofflykke, its heavier than the viscose I used for the dress but still works great.  It looks like the fabric is sold out in this colour.

Do you think it’s possible that blue is my favourite colour? Haha

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
