I’m up on the Lana tour today and what great company I’m in! One of the great things about the Lana pattern from Coffee and Thread is that its available both for us grown ups and the little ladies in our lives. I’ve already made quite a few Lana’s for both me and my little one. But I decided to make our first twinning garment for this tour. Here you go, our twinning debut!
It was really windy during our short photo session and I guess at this time of year you can’t be picky about that you just have to take what you can get, do your best and have fun with it.
Originally the pattern was for a top or dress with a short ruffle sleeve. That was really nice in the summer time but not so much now and in the coming months. For the tour we could do what we wanted with the pattern so I knew I had to make a long sleeve.
This was a very easy hack! I just measured how long I wanted the sleeves and how wide at the wrist and drew it from there. I’m also not a huge fan of hemming knit sweaters, therefor I added bands at the sleeves and at the waist.
I bought this lovely sweater knit from Imagine Gnats sometime last year. Its so soft and has such nice drape to it and the color is so very rich. I’m so glad I had just enough for the two tops.
If you want a long sleeved Lana but don’t have time to measure and make your own sleeve, don’t worry the pattern has now been updated to include a long sleeve and you can add a ruffle on top as well. Super cute! Anita already has a couple of those now.
Check out all the other Lana’s that will be popping up this week and next for inspiration, today with me you’ll find Marta from do guincho and @_little_ If you are inspired the pattern is on sale during the tour with code “lanatour”
Enjoy and happy sewing!
