I love that Olga behind coffee and thread, one of my favourite kids clothes pattern designer is venturing into designing for women as well. I’m always a little bit nervous trying patterns for myself by a new to me designer, but I have tested for Olga before so I know that her designes are great.
Meet the new Lana Top and Dress! It’s a simple jersey top with dropped shoulders and the ruffled sleeves gives it that little extra omph. There are many more Lana tops on my sewing list at the moment.
I can’t remember where I bought this fabric, its light weight jersey and it feels so good on! I graded from size 6 to 10 at the hips and the fit is perfect. I had to make some dresses as well, so here is the first one.
For this one I used fabric from a So Sew English Fabrics bundle I bought last fall. I wasn’t sure I would like the distressed fabric on me, but after wearing the dress for a while I am loving it!
The pattern includes a pattern piece for the belt.
This one is made out of light weight sweater knit I believe I bought from Imagine Gnats. I was a bit worried it would be see through, but it worked out just fine. It is so light and airy it almost feels like wearing nothing, if we get a good summer I’m sure I’ll wear it a lot.
Both the top and the dress so up so fast and don’t take that much fabric either. All these will be stable pieces in my summer wardrobe. You should make some too and be sure to get the pattern while it is still on sale!!
Love
