Wardrobe by me…

… using patterns from Wardrobe by me!

Christinas patterns fit me perfectly, they are usually drafted for 172 cm height so I never have to do length adjustments and the curves hit me in all the right places although I have to grade out a little bit for the hips if it’s a fitted garment.  But hey, you can’t have it all on a silver plate now can you?!

Wardrobe by me just released The Paperboy Pleated Pants and they are awesome!  My uniform usually consists of skinny jeans and a top/sweater of some kind so I wasn’t sure I  would love these pants.  But I do – I really really do love them!  I mean how can you not, they look like nice dressy pants but they feel like sweatpants.  You just can’t beat that combination!!

These are high waisted pull on pants with a faux fly and back elastic and recommended fabrics are Ponte, French Terry or other bottom weight knit fabrics.  So now you get why they are so awesome.

I used Ponte di Roma or Courtellejersey as its called here in Norway from Stoffdronning. Mine are size 38 gradet to 36 at the waist.  My muslin was size 40 gradet to 38 at the waist and it really gave me a boost to have to size down for pants, especially after all the Holiday eating.  With my pear figure I really hate shopping for pants, usually if I get them past my hips the waist is way too big, so I love being able to make my own and adjusting the size here and there to get the right fit.  On my to do list is to make another pair where I add length to make them full length.

The top I’m wearing here is my true and trusted Trudy Turtleneck.  I’ve made quite a few of these and actually as I’m writing this I’m wearing one where I’ve lengthened the pattern to an above the knee length dress.  I have been hoarding this fabric forever, I think its from Stoff og Stil, it’s so nice and soft and perfect for a Trudy.

My jacket is also from a Wardrobe by me pattern, it’s the Komi Kimono Jacket and its perfect as a light throw on jacket.  I’ve blogged about it here before.  The fabric is wool suiting I bought at Mood Fabrics when I went to NYC with my besties from Iceland.  Should we test and see if they read my sewing blogg and ask them to comment with a fun emoji?  I wont hold my breath cause I don’t get so many hits on my blog from Iceland unless I post in one of the sewing groups.  If they do there should be 5 emoji comments 😉

And there you have it, my ever growing Wardrobe by me capsule.

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
