Janis – same but different!

So I’m changing things up a bit today, another model and another color scheme!  I think Anita was glad to get some time off from the modelling, just wish I had her carefree spirit.  She will be back here soon enough though.

So this is me (in case you forgot) and my fancy Janis in rayon challis from Imagine Gnats!  Janis is a brand new pattern from Wardrobe by me.

Janis Boho Tunic has so many options!  You can make a v-neck or a round neck, straight or ruffle hem, straight sleeves, sleeves with two different width ruffles or sleeves with voilant cuffs.

For my fancy version I did a straight hem and sleeve length above the elbow with the narrow ruffle in size 36.

This is also Janis, this time in french terry from So Sew English Fabrics.

This time with a v-neck, ruffle hem and straight sleeves.  I sized down to size 32 for the knit version since the pattern is made for woven fabric.

I love how you can make a fancy blouse or a casual sweater from the same pattern and just think about all the different tops you can make with this pattern.  Like so often with new releases, the pattern is on sale here for $8.00 until September 22.  You should also join the Wardrobe by me pattern support group on Facebook for inspiration and support.

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört

  1. Thank you for showing the same pattern made up in such different ways! I absolutely adore the french terry version (perhaps due to my recently found love for french terry hahaha).
