Remember, Wardrobe by me released two new patterns for summer tops a couple of weeks ago? I already posted about my Summer Breeze top, here but today I’m going to show you my Summer Tulip Top.
This cute little top sews up very fast even though it has nice details like a small collar stand, gathers at the front, double folded cuffs at the sleeves, slit and a button at the back and curved hem.
This pattern is also designed for light weight woven fabric but can easily be made with jersey fabric as well if you size down. I used very soft light weight woven fabric I’ve had in my stash for some time now and I can’t remember where I bought it.
Since this pattern doesn’t have the same flair as the Summer Breeze top I made size 6 gradet to 10 at the hips.
This was the first time my curved hem turned out perfect. I was dreading to do the hemming but I guess practice makes perfect!
I might have to go online fabric shopping and stock up on more light weight fabric!
I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment!
