The Lilah dress

Have you heard about Sansahash yet?  It’s a new children’s pdf pattern company.  I have been following her on Instagram for a long time and have always admired the clothes she makes for her daughter so I’m sure we will see lots of awesome patterns from them in the future.  Their second pattern was just release and I got to be in on the testing process.  Say hello to The Lilah Dress!

This is a perfect sommer dress for your little one.  The pattern includes pattern pieces and instruction for both woven and knit versions and top or dress length.  Size range is from 6 months to 12 years, so if you have a brand new baby you can be making this dress for many years.

The difference in the woven and the knit is that the woven version has a button placket on the front bodice so it easily slips over your girls head.

The racerback is so cool!  I made Anita size 5 around the chest and lengthened to size 6 and the fit is spot on.  It’s fitted without being to tight, absolutely perfect.

For this one I used this nice cotton lawn from Moda fabrics, I bought it from Urban Sew and I hope I bought enough to make matching dresses for my two nieces as well because its out of stock.

The gathers on the skirt pieces are pretty tight so it works really well to use light weight fabric and you’ll get an awesome flowy summer dress.

I can highly recommend this pattern, everything printet out and lined up perfectly.  The instructions are great and there are not that many pieces to prep and cut so it sews up very fast and easily.  You should join the Facebook group too for inspiration and information.

This fabric is so busy it doesn’t really show the awesome lines of the pattern so I’m going to come back in a few days with my first one to give you a better idea.

Miss sassy pants and I say goodbye for now and we will check in here again very shortly!

Love

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
