It’s getting colder here in Scandinavia so it was in order to start sewing seasonal appropriate clothes. Perfect timing to join in on testing the newest pattern from Wardrobe by me, the classic coat.
This was a little challenging to sew but very fun and rewarding. I took my time, read the instructions over and over and my iron became my best friend.
The pattern is designed for a wool or a wool blend coat fabric, it is fully lined and you can choose to make either welt or patch pockets. I specially loved the shapes of the interfacing pieces! If you want to know what I’m talking about you just have to buy the pattern haha!
The fabric I used is a wool blend I bought at Stoff og Stil. I can’t find it in the online shop so maybe it’s sold out. For the lining I used this one also from Stoff og Stil. It’s just a thin viscose since I’m terrified of using the slippery stuff usually used in lining. I have used that polyester acetate once and it was not fun!
I wouldn’t choose this as my debut sewing project but it actually isn’t that hard to sew, so if you have a few projects under your belt you can make this coat. Just take your time, use your iron and ask questions in the Wardrobe by me Facebook group.
Lets go into this winter in style!
