My lovely Amelia Bomber Jacket

Yeah you read the title correct – I made myself a bomber jacket!!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record here it goes:  I was lucky enough to test Wardrobe by me latest pattern, the Amelia Bomber Jacket.

Isn’t that cool?  I really love my new jacket and as soon as it warms up a bit more here I’ll wear it all the time!

This was not as fast and easy to sew up as the other WBM patterns I have tested, but the instruction are good and Christina is great and always ready to help out if you get into trouble.  I wouldn’t recommend it as your very first sewing project but if you have been sewing some and are a bit adventurous and up for more challenging projects, go for it.  Plus ending up with such a fabulous jacket is so worth the time that goes into making it.

The jacket is for woven fabric, it’s fully lined so not an exposed seams in sight.  It has inseam pockets, bust pleats in both main and lining pieces for a flattering fit and the back lining has a center pleat for a more comfortable fit.  There are also instructions on lengthening the jacket if desired.

I made mine in size 4 with no alterations and the fit is spot on.  You might also have noticed that I’m wearing my Wardrobe Builder Tee underneath my jacket.  I wear that shirt all the time, I love it so.

I’m sure you are also wondering where I got my awesome fabric.  Both my main fabric and lining are from the wonderful dream-shop of all fabric lovers Miss Matatabi.  For the lining I used this lovely rayon linen blend, it is oh so soft.  The main fabric is this one a little bit heavier linen cotton blend.   Phew I had to scroll really fast through her shop to find those links for you guys without ordering more fabric!

If you act fast you can catch your copy of this great on trend pattern while it is on sale for $8.00 (reg. $11.00) until April 22.

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört

  1. This jacket looks so flattering on! Love the outer fabrics, and loooove a floral party on the inside! Also, high five for resisting the temptation to buy more fabric hehe
