The Festivity Dress

Here is Anitas Christmas dress finally on the blog!

I made this dress back in November when it was in testing, but then I had to kick all the Christmas preparations in high gear and never got around to give it the proper blog post it deserves.

This is the Festivity Dress from Elegance and Elephants.  The fabric is cotton crepe from Miss Matatabi, I bought it on sale back in July so it’s no longer available.  But if you dare to check out her store she is now running a sale with up to 70% discount until January 4th.

Back to the pattern.  The Festivity dress includes many options.  Since my fabric had such a large print I went with the simple A-line option.  This option only has one front and one back piece so it’s a quick sew.  You can also choose the option which has princess seams and inserted godets, that increases the twirl factor considerably.  My princess would totally love that so I have to sew up that version too.

There are three sleeve lengths, the dress is fully lined and has an invisible zipper, which is not hard to sew if you have the right zipper foot.  There is also a genius method to insert the sleeves so that the seams are totally hidden, that makes the inside look almost as good as the outside.

If you are looking for a festive dress for a little girl in your life I can truly recommend the Festivity Dress!

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
