The Komi Jacket from Wardrobe by me just had a make-over and now has more sizes and a new collar option and it can be made using both woven and knits. How awesome is that!
As you can see I went totally crazy with my fabric selection this time! This is woven jacquard upholstery fabric from Stoff og Stil.
The turquoise part is velvet and I love the structure of the combination and hang on I’ll show you the inside, its so fun!
Fun, right?! Oh, and I bound all the exposed seems with bias tape. Pretty inside an out!
The Komi is a great jacket for transitioning weather, when you need a jacket but don’t quite need your winter coat. The big front pockets are too die for and the finishings with the back seam, the topstitching and the way the cuffs are constructed are so on point!
For this one I did the simple kimono collar, there is also an option for a shawl collar. You can also make a sleeveless Komi if you are so lucky you live in a warm place. There are separate front pattern pieces for knit and for woven. For woven there is a bust dart but not for the knit version. I made size 6 and as usually accommodated for my hips by grading out to 10.
The pattern is on sale until Friday, October 26th so grab a copy and you should also join the Wardrobe by me pattern support group on FB to keep up with new releases and get inspiration for your wardrobe.
