Mila with epic pleats

I’m continuing with patterns named after our family members.  Now it’s a gorgeous Mila Dress, we have a very cute Mila in our family who is going to need her very own Mila dress for sure!

The Mila Dress by Sansahash has a beautiful vintage vibe with the drop waist and loose fit and I especially adore the version with the pleats.  You can also do a gathered skirt.

By DagbjørtThe pattern comes in sizes from 6 months to 12 years and it is for knit fabrics, buuut it comes with a v-back option and if you use that it can be made with woven fabric as well, how cool is that!

For Anita I made size 5 and added length to in between 7 and 8.  I don’t remember where I got my fabrics from.  I’ve used them both for a few other projects so I could probably find out if I scrolled through my blog.  This was the rest of both fabrics and it felt real good to use up something from my stash.

This one in denim looking some kind of jersey fabric is my favourite!  I don’t know exactly what this fabric is but it is a bit heavier and the pleats are just so crisp and clean.

This one was not from the final pattern, a minor adjustment was made on the armcye after this version.  It doesn’t bother me though, just wanted to let you know in case you find the armhole to open in the front in these photos.  The one with the pink skirt at top here is from the final pattern.

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
