The beautiful Flora the first

I really don’t understand what happened but I forgot to hit publish on this post last weekend and only remembered when I came back to my WordPress to write about Flora the second!  Is old age catching up to me or what?!

Although I forgot to publish my post don’t you dare to think that Flora is forgettable!  Who is Flora you might be wondering, well The Flora Dress and Tunic is the latest pattern by Elegance & Elephants.

It’s such a lovely design for woven fabrics with so many options and there are no zippers or buttons to deal with.  That makes this pattern very beginner friendly plus the instructions are great.  For my first one I chose option A with 3/4 length sleeves.  I LOVE the cuffed sleeves!  It’s such as delicate detail.  View A has a regular bodice so this one sews up really fast.

Other options are tunic length, short or long sleeves and side panels for only the bodice or both bodice and skirt.  Sizes go from 12 months to 12 years.  I made size 5 lengthened to 7 and the fit is perfect, effortless and easy to wear.

The beautiful fabric I used for this one is from my hoarding stash of fabrics from Miss Matatabi.

If you want a beautiful dress for a young girl for the holiday or any occasion and specially if time is a factor as well than Flora is the right pattern for you!!  There are not many so elegant patterns for woven fabric that don’t include zippers or buttons.

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
