More Aurora

I promised to show you my second Aurora blouse from Wardrobe by me and here it is and I absolutely love it!

By Dagbjørt

This was originally my first one but the sleeves were to short on me.  Length has been added to the pattern pieces so now the length is perfect.  I just chopped the sleeves off and added the band instead cause I didn’t have enough fabric to cut new ones.

This one is definitely more dress up than my previous one.  I love how you can make this pattern any style depending on what fabric you use.  I did the tie-band collar here too.   I’ve never had anything with this type of collar so I thought it was a really nice change and fun to make.

I’m sure you are wondering what this amazing fabric is and where it’s from.

Ok ok, I’ll tell you!

It is this wonderful 100% cotton sateen from Nani Iro Beau Yin Yang by Naomi Ito for Kokka, I bought from Miss Matatabi.  She still has more of this in stock and in different versions as you can see here.  It’s not cheap stuff but sooo worth it and she is still offering flat rate international shipping for a little while longer, so that helps.  It sounds as I am an affiliate with Miss Matatabi but I’m not, I wish, she just has the most amazing fabrics.

You might call me crazy for cutting right into my fancy fabric when pattern testing.  But that’s how confident I am in Christinas patterns, I know I will love what I make and that the fit will be great.  All though the sleeves were too short the first time around that was an easy fix since the pattern has other options.

So grab your Aurora pattern while it’s still on sale and make yourself a nice blouse, tunic or a dress or all of the above.  You deserve it!

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment! XOXO Dagbjört
