Anita has had such a growth spurt this summer that almost all her knit dresses are now too small. So what’s a sewing mom to do? I think you can guess the answer, wink-wink!

I started with The Oxford Top & Dress from Shwin Designs. This is a very fast sew and a perfect dress for active girls. There are so many options in the pattern, top or dress length, different sleeve options, hood, turtle neck or regular rib neckband.

For this one I used some buttery soft Art Gallery knits I bought from Imagine Gnats Store.

One dress is certainly not enough so I made another one.

This one is also so so soft, I used this french terry but in another color from So Sew English Fabrics.

I was afraid it would look too much like a nightgown since it is so pink so I added the hood to this one. I see now that I forgot to press over the hem, so never mind that.

She is very happy with her first dress with a hood.

Now I just have to make her some more dresses fit for school!

I'm a mom to four fantastic kids, three boys and a girl. To teenagers and to toddlers so never a dull moment in our household :) We are from Iceland but have been living in Norway since 2001. I have a newfound passion for sewing. My hubby travels a lot for work and I needed something to do at night when the little ones are a sleep because suddenly my teenage boys would rather hang with their friends or play on their pc's than be with me - why is beyond my imagination :) Thanks to Pinterest I found some amazing sewing bloggers, whom I've been stalking, and realized that I could dig out my sewing machine and start sewing. Now it's all I think about. I've been hoarding pdf patterns and learning from all the amazing tutorials that are out there. I've decided to try out this blogging thing as well to document my sewing journey. We'll see how it goes!
Thanks for stopping by, I would love it if you would leave me a comment!
XOXO
