Meet todays stars who nailed the photoshoot dressed for summer in the cold wind at the beach. Luckily we had the place to ourselves so no nasty looks or comments.
These two are very strong spirited so they can fight like cats and dogs but they are also best friends and always take care of each other and make sure the other one is included.
I’ll start with The Ila Dress, I love this pattern and it’s the fourth one I make. I made her a size 5 lengthened to a size 6. This dress is so perfect for everyday wear. I can’t wait for warmer weather so we can stop layering when she wears them.
There are so many ways to play with fabric and piping using this pattern. I used Japanese mid-weight cotton I bought from Miss Matatabi and have been hoarding for 3 years now. I used to always order 1 m of fabric when I bought something without a plan, but now as the kids grow that isn’t always enough so I really need to start sewing through my stash.
Lets pass the ball over to The Mulberry Tunic!
I’ve had this pattern since it came out in the Willow and Co collection and I’m so glad I finally sewed it up, don’t know why I haven’t done it before. This too is great for color blocking and it’s unisex which is always a bonus if you have boy and a girl to sew for. So many possibilities!
I used size 8 for Viktor, it’s a bit roomy but that’s what I wanted so he will have some room to grow into it. This adorable houndstooth fabric is double gauze from Kokka. It is SO soft and will probably be a dream to wear if it ever gets warm here. I bought it from Urban Sew also a while ago. It’s still available here in limited quantity in the sale section and if you subscribe to the newsletter you should have just received an email with a code for 50% off everything in the sale section. Dang now I just ordered more fabric, linking to fabric stores is very very dangerous!!!
Time to put some clothes on these kids!
Here is The Ania Tunic in knit also the fourth one I make. I love that it’s designed for both knit and woven fabrics and hey I’ll just through it out there again, color blocking duh!
I also finally made The Wild and Free Lounge Pants. I did print them out and trace the pattern when they first came out, but little missy has had a growth spurt since then so I had start from scratch. The possibilities here are WAY to many to mention here in this post, you just have to click on over to the listing and read for yourself!
For sizing I made the pants in size 5 width and lengthened to a 6. The tunic I wanted a bit bigger so it’s size 5 width lengthened to a 7. But as I was cutting my fabric I didn’t have enough of the pink one so I took out about an inch or maybe a little more from the width of the lower front and back panel.
Fabrics used here is from Imagine Gnats. The grey is this interlock and the pink is french terry which is out of stock.
That about wraps it up, I think.

Well taking photos on a cold day is a sure way to have a beach all to yourself! It looks like the kids have had a lot of fun, despite the weather! I love every single piece you have made. Olga’s patterns definitely fit my requirements of being suitable for everyday monkeying around children need to do! It is always a bonus when their clothing is so pretty!
